Hair Testing

Hair strand drug testing is the process of analyzing a sample of the hair to detect for evidence of drug consumption. A section of hair, about 200 strands, is sent to a lab for testing. The test can pick up drugs or drug metabolites inside the hair shaft that have been deposited there through the bloodstream. Hair testing allows for detection of drugs of abuse, substances like marijuana, cocaine, opiates, barbiturates and many other types of drugs.

The test is most commonly used to assist with evidence in family law and child care cases. It is also used by various authorities to monitor sportsmen and employees. It is quickly becoming the preferred drug testing for employers, as well as court-ordered probation testing. The detection window for this type of testing is usually 90 days. Although one of the most expensive types of drug testing, many of our clients prefer this as it is accurate and difficult to manipulate.
